Rear window offside lower catch

I took both mine off when one just kept turning without latching,bought two new ones £16 each 
and they turned out to be as hopeless as the originals!
plus they were hardly secured to the car anyway.
I drilled out the holes that the quick release bolt is supposed to secure to and used m4 hex bolts instead.
then I drilled a hole in the body where the bolt comes through the clip then drilled a strip of steel with 3 nuts welded to it,one in the centre for the window bolt and the others
(small panhead nuts & bolts from maplins)to bolt the clip assy to the car,with a bit of sealent of course,
I re fitted the screen then bolted the clips to the car as tight to the window as possible.fitting the strip of steel inside the body providing more strength/rigidity to the whole affair.
lets face it,anything is better than two poxy little self tappers into 3mm of fibreglass.
just kept an 5mm allen key in the car to tighten & release the window bolt.
Its far far more secure than any other ive seen and it never seemed to want to pop out even with roof off windows down high speed motoring.

Good effort Dick. Dont suppose you fancy manufacturing me one You are an engineer, I couldn't engineer my way out of a paper bag lol.
I'll have to have a closer look, at what you've done and the problem. i don't feel confident that the current one will hold. It is broken where the plastic turns at right angles.
