Any experiences of SGT in Taplow? Company got a Mitsu from there recently, and I noticed they've got some Lotuses lying around too.

Only about 5 miles away from me! Are they worth dealing with?

ETA: I meant Taplow, not Burnham! Sorry smile

I don't think they are an official Lotus dealer anymore, they used to be and I nearly bought an S2 from them when they were first released. No real experience, they let me test drive a car there when I wanted to so thats about it. I would have thought you would be better going to an official dealer unless SGT have the exact car you want.

Always found the parts dept. chap very helpful, and everyone else friendly, can't vouch for their sales/service customer service as I've always used Steve Williams in Maidenhead, who I couldn't recommend anymore highly all be it with a very very dry sense of humor.

Although as I don't work for BMW Taplow anymore, I use Specialised in Reading now for all my work.

I'd give them a miss from Mitz experiences.... go to Specialised in Reading, cheaper and they do a great job!

I have only ever had repairs and services done at SGT and have never had any problems ... The parts department and mechanics are all helpful and seem to go that extra mile. When the gear linkage cracked on my Elise (the daily drive!) one of the mechanics ran out, took the tray off underneath, told me how much it would be to repair and then put the tray back on! Had the work done and got it back the same day - They had also cleaned the car inside and out - Top stuff smile

I've also used Steve Williams for upgrades and fitting ... Highly recommended!

Have used them a couple of times when I had my FTO. Were very good/quick and at the time quite completive pricwise, even got a little box of sweets in the car when collected.
The mechanic was friendly too, happy to answer all manner of questions.
However I inquired about a price on a repair last year and mentioned that they were completive in the past, at which point the service guy said "no sir we are expensive because we are SGT" don't ya know.

I think they are a little expensive and probably wouldn’t buy a car from them or have any work done (use Lakeside now anyway) but service is friendly I believe.
