Just bought them

ACT £110 or Jools at Track Car Solutions have linked decat pipes for £140
http://trackcarsolutions.net/shop/index.php?act=vi...

Or ACT have the silencers that replace the Cats
ACTSJ10ECerbera V8 cherry bomb decats, these have bullet silencers for deeper sound, fully adjustable in length, price is for Pair£220

I found they also really help reduce cabin temperature, which will be a good thing for the summer! No surprise, as the massively hot cats were located very close to occupants!

cheers guys

do they help the engine run cooler and is there any peformance gains, finally is there a need for a fueling map mod as a result of removing the cats?

no need to remap on a 4.5, they're so rich as std that a bit of change of airflow through the exhaust isn't going to harm anything. On the 4.2 however especially with the strong pulse the linked decats give at just under 2000rpm you might have to run a modded chip, some cars need it and some cars don't.

If you need the chip it's free. the biggest extra airflow is at about 1700-2000rpm so you'll feel exagerrated jerkiness in that rev range because the car is underfuelling more than the lambda trim can compensate for. Some cars byt the nature of the engine build and other factors manage perfectly well without the chip others need it, there seems to be no rule on that, just try it and find out. Ive never had a problem on 4.5s, and only a handful of 4.2s seem to be affected, but teh chip is free and 5 mins to change so not a big issue really.

wow, i bet you've pinpointed my jerkiness issues! low revs about town is pretty unhappy/jerky, even though ive just had everything on the car sorted! maybe as you suggest its since the decats+sports pipes - need an emerald and a competent remapper bloke I think!

hi spawn

go for it, its definately a must do job

it its seems to rev free'er without the cats and the sound is wicked, it sounds apocolyptic!!!

apparently link decats can add a few horses (with new chip... i think) and are little quieter at lower, round town revs.

non linked decats are just simple pipes to replace the cats

straight forward job

got mine from tvr car parts

money well spent

Deifinately something I shall be doing next month. I assume cats can just be taken straight out of then and new pipes bolted in. Should be simple smile I shall be acquiring some come the end of the month I think smile

I have to say, looking at my exhaust it's bolted on like I have not seen previously.. I think a few pics are in order to explain it (when I get a chance to take some!)!

Yep - they're definitely a must do - justy driven back from Dulfords with my new 'noise'. Felt like a Nascar as I tried to hug the concrete central reservation on parts of the M5 as the noise bounced off and backa at me rotate
oh and as for the pops and bangs - I thought they were loud before but now shoot
