wavey +1. When we first had ours (4.0) we took it pretty steady for a few weeks and it returned @24 MPG. Look at it this way, the further down your right foot is, the lower the MPG. But then, isn't that always the way?

wavey +2! As the previous poster said...depends on what you want to do. Spirited driving will get you less mpg but if you take it easy you should get reasonable mpg from what is after all a V8. Mine is a 4 litre and I reckon I get around 20+ mpg!

Good luck finding one and remember try resisting the first one you see and buy on condition rather than miles on the clock...the Rover V8 prefers to be used regularly so high milers shouldn't necessarily be a problem.

Welcome.
I have a 4.0 Chimmy as a daily driver & it lives on the street at night. Its a bit of a bugger in the cold mornings, likes a little warm before setting off but otherwise its not a problem.
If your worried about MPG on a V8 sportscar then maybe its not the right choice.
I'm getting around 20-30 dependant upon the trip / road type. A day on the motorways will see 30mpg with no problem at a steady 65/70. Urban driving can get it right down but a typical mix will see regular 20's.

Thanks for the info i have found a car and hope to pick it up tomorrow evening
i realise that if i worry about fuel costs i should not get a v8 but running costs of all my vehicles put together amount to a lot of money per month hope to see you all at shows and runs
