clicked on some link here and seems that as it is on the .co.uk site, I am not registered and have to register or something to post a reply

was always under the impression that the 2 sites were one or are they split to save on bandwidth ?

I believe it's your cookies, they don't transfer when you click between the domains. If you had logged into the .co.uk site then that link would work for you.

It is the way the internet works I am afraid... even though the sites work from the same code and servers in the background, your internet browser doesn't know that pistonheads.com is the same as pistonheads.co.uk, so treats your login details as for seperate sites.

In reality the .co.uk should redirect to the .com site to stop this problem, which we are looking into changing in the future.
