Bit slippy out there.
Complete 4 wheel drift in a roundabout in Winchester. Totally unexpected...

Then came across a roundabout with a car parked across the entry lane in the armco with a taxi parked in its side. Couldnt figure out how on earth that could happen untill I went around them and found the diesel. Broke traction, swung the back end round, applied some power to bring her back, made a wonderful roar and shot off up the road. Much to the amusement of the plod attending the accident. Ooops...

Go carefully guys.

I've had a few moments caused by the salt that has been spread on the roads!

Had one of those last winter.

Driving to work early one morning half asleep, same route as always. Go one to a small roundabout and the backend steps out large. Dial on a bit of lock slid past the other entry and exit roads, leaving the roundabout via my correct exit and off (with a roar, as Gooby said) to work.

Coworker says 'Fancy a coffee?', 'No thanks i'm good this morning' I say as i try to get my heart rate back into double digits.

Not sure if it was diesel or just cold AD07's, but i wasn't going quick and it wasn't wet.

There is that much salt on the roads round here it seems to have lubricated the surface...

Why/how does so much diesel get spilled? It seems to be everywhere, I haven't ever seen any though, and don't want to.
I understand oil dripping at junctions & bus stops where cars /buses are stationery, but why diesel??

The winchester one was the Jcn 10, A 31 roundabout on the east side of the mway. This roundabout is always slow and slippy but this morning was extreem.

The "diesel" roundabout was in Luton (bleugh)

Scream like a girl, soil my suit and have visions of filling out insurance forms untill I retire. The cold feeling of driving a "courtesy" car for 8 weeks is also not nice.

That's the one, I thought I must have been travelling too fast having swapped from the Elise to the Omega this morning.

I have in the past see lorries dumping fuel from their tanks as they go round (the fuel caps often seem to let fuel out). Totaly lethal.

Yeah I think it's just the slosh effect but unlike petrol it doesn't evaporate.

No kidding, I nearly fell on my arse when filling up the other day, parked a bit too close to the pump, had to step out on to the raised bit around the pump (shell garage), obv. had diesel on it, was like stepping on to wet ice.

Very slippy slidey out there at the mo. I had a few tail wags exiting roundabouts on Friday evening on my way to Bedford. Not pressing on either, just a bit of ice/crap/whatever on the roads.
Very slippy early at Bedford on Saturday too. Completely outbraked myself going into the hairpin at the end of the pitlane but was determined I was getting round so as soon as I had a bit of grip I just sort of slung the car in and got on the throttle. She slid round, straightened up and away BUT... the car following had nipped through the inside and must have been 75 yeards ahead before I was properly going again (Sideways is slow!) laugh.

Be careful out there, Winter and diesel aren't kind to lotii...

I think the diesel thing is because lorries/trucks fill up to the brim and then when the exit the petrol station and go round a roundabout it spills out. This used to happen to me all the time at the shell garage in congleton, it's well slippery even at very low speeds.

Slow in fast out!

A part of Luton.
Could be my description shold be a little more in depth. While accelerating and hittng the diesel the power spiked, dropped the power (panic) applied opp lock then oscilated the power to bring me back in line and shoot off up the road.

Happy?
