Thinking of buying a 2004 CCM 644 Dual sport as a 2nd bike (1st GSXR600 K6), for back roads and general Tom foolery. My Local dealer has an 04 plate one 6,000 miles for £3,300 (nearer £2.8 if I'm lukcy). Test ride was great, laughing like a idiot. Anyone had one, are they any good? Things I must check (Apart V5, HPI etc)?

04 is the Suzuki engine yes? If not walk away. £3300 buys you a very good SM, CCm resales not high, I would go for a Honda XR650. Well thats a lie, I DID go for an XR top bikes!

Ive got a CRF if your interested, its too crazy for me!

hmmm. I have to say KTM Duke, but then I would, I have one and love it, just seemed a better package than CCM when I rode them back to back, but really enjoyed the CCM too as it was a bit easier to ride. Hard choice but I think I made the right one. Z

I have a 04 644 as a second bike but I've not insured it yet this year, I asked a load of questions on this site http://ccmriders.co.uk/index.php
Steve the site owner is really helpfull and the knowledge within the site is impressive - certainly played a big part in my purchase.

KTM Duke, if you want a good all-round Supermoto.

+1 on the duke,

Re ccm 644 means its the aircooled rotax lump not the 400cc? suzook DR motor, either way both flawed compared to the very well developed KTM (note developed is a relative term pertinent to the supermoto question)

A full-on supermoto is a very intense bike, though. It depends if you want that. Both mine were, the SMR 630 and the 576 Nox.
Terrible bikes, if you want any sort of comfort or practicality.
Fantastic, if you want a road/track racer.

The 644 is the later 644cc Suzuki - the 604 was the earlier 604cc Rotax version.

I wouldn't bother, I had one some time back with s'moto wheels and 19/21s for off road, it was too slow on the road, and too heavy off road.
If you like the sit up and beg riding position try a speed triple or a Tuono.
