As the title says. Passenger side right at the rear just around the rear windscreen top edge and corner. The lining has actually been dripping before. The external rubber seal is split right on the corner, but it's has been sealed underneath the rubber. Is this the only place water can get in?? I normally park facing upwards on a slope.

Exactly the same as mine Bill.

Get the car covered asap. You'll eventually see water in the boot....unfortunately that's "after" the gap behind the helmet holder has filled up with water.

There's a wiring loom behind there along with other boxes that you don't really want submerged in water.

I dropped mine off at National Windscreens on Saturday to have the rear screen removed & refitted.

I'll let you know when they've finished with it.

Cheers for the info. Let me know how you get on. Are you worried about them breaking the screen getting it out??

The guy seems quite confident, he's done the windscreen on my old cerb. However Tvr's power comment as I left was "wish him good luck"..... So you may have made a good point :-)

I've just called to see how they're getting on.

The rear screen has been removed, and there's a hole in the seal at the top on the drivers side. There are no inside channels in the fibre glass, so if you've got water at the top or top sides of the screen, then it's definitely coming from the seal.

Glass came out OK, he said it looks like it's 3 or 4mm which is quite thin apparently, probably for weight saving.

He picked a roll of trim up yesterday, so hopefully it'll be back in later.

I'll let you know smile

Thanks for the update. Encouraging that they got the screen out without breaking it - especially as it's recessed.

I checked my front screen the other day as I've got water ingress in the front as well, and the rubber is in a bad state. What annoys me is that she was resprayed twice - by Austec - within a year not so long ago (long story) so both front and rear seals would have been removed. However instead of replacing them with new ones, the old ones have been reused. The rear has a split - in the corner in question - and the front is destroyed in many areas although you cant see it until you lift it up. Looks like I may have to get both the front and rear done frown

Keep me posted - I'll be interested to know the cost.

I've picked it back up tonight. Cost was £80 plus vat , but apparently they're all franchises, so you may get charged more or less. It's dry & dark now, but the heated rear screen still works smile

The forecast is heavy rain for tonight in Brum, so i'll let you know if it's done the trick in the morning smile

hhhmmmmmmm

The bottom of the screen is slightly damp in the corner. I could swear I checked it all last night, but I might have missed that bit.

It might have still been damp from last time, I hope smile, as that's where the water congregated before.

As soon as the rain stops, I'm going to put a fan heater in there & dry it out for definite.

Andy at APM shoved a load of sealant around where we suspected mine was leaking. It was dry when I picked it up. A couple of days later and the lining was damp. Hence my interest in the post. However it has been dry since although I haven't checked if for a few days. So it could be some residual water left over somewhere although I don't totally understand it in your case as they would have to have dried it all out before refitting the screen???

Keep me posted.

I've dried it out today with a fan heater. My car cover was in the boot & had water on it, I may have put it away with frost on it, but I doubt it.

No rain due tonight, but the valeter's coming to clean it tomorrow, so I should have a definitive answer.

My gut feeling is that it's still leaking, possibly lower down now though.

I hope not, I can see the work they've around the screen, and it's impossible to see how anything can get under the nice new shiny trim, let alone the seal round the screen.

Tune in for tomorrows update smile I can feel a fire coming on smile

Now that's just bloody annoying.

Checked mine this morning, and she's dry. I want to get a detailer in to clean mine, but only when everythings up to scratch and that includes the rubber trim. I have a dilema now....

Yes, sorry, I meant to update.

Inside of the car is as dry as a bone.

The boot remained dampish for a couple of days, but I believe that was old shifting water, working it's way to the bottom smile

I'm still getting a little bit of damp in the boot, but It's right at the back of the car, by the boot badge, that's been fixed recently, and I'm fairly certain there's a bit of damp coming in behind the badge.

But yes, the rear screen removal sorted the main/turned out to be expensive problem.

Well you can't moan at that!

I'd better get mine booked in before the lining starts to rot.

Cheers for the info thumbup
