VW Touran 2.00 TDI Cambelt change
Discussion
Hi there
Our local VW dealer has mailed me advising that the cambelt on my 2004 (54 plate) Touran is due for change. The vehicle is currently 3 year and 3 month old and has 54000 on the clock. The service manual indicates that it should be changed at 80,000 miles. Is this the dealer drumming up business or is it advisable? Any help or sources of help appreciated! Thanks Nic

AFAIK it's the older 1.9 units that need the belts doing at 60k. Not sure about the 2.0 ones. Have a scout on www.uk-mkivs.net (in the MkV section).
