I was wondering what the general consensus was on brake pads (AP calipers) for road and the odd track day - M1155 or DS2500 or other type? My brake kit was supplied with M1155 but AP reckoned DS2500 might be better bet for road. Anybody have experience with both types of pad?

I used ds3000. They seem to work well cold or hot

I also spoke to AP they recomended the DS2500 pads. More of a Sacrifical pad, Disc's last longer etc.

I have the Mintex 1155 pads. They perform very well and I can recommend them.

I have also tried EBC red stuff pads, they where a total disaster. I cooked the pads in about 1 week. I took them back and the guy at the shop could not believe what I had done to them. The pad surface just fell apart.

While I was searching locally for alternatives to the factory AP Racing setup (a waste of time...but thats for another thread!), I was told by the local AP Racing distributor that he thought Mintex 1155 were not really suitable for street use as there coefficient of friction at low temperatures was less than ideal. He also said that they were quite an agressive pad and would shorten the live span of the disc significantly. He recommended that I look for something softer and more sacrificial.

Although having said that, he also said that they would make a great pad for the track.

Has anyone used the 1155 pads for an extended period and suffered any "premature" disc wear?
