Hi All

New owner after a bit of advice..

After purchasing a Superlight at the weekend smile I am currently trying to sort out insurance. I am insuring the Caterham as a 2nd car and was wondering who you can recommend? With my current Monaro (and previous cars including 2 TVR's and a VX220) I have been with Direct Line - and they've always been competitive, but only as a single car policy..

But they don't want to play ball here, the policy is on a limited mileage of 6k pa, coming in at 700 quid fully comp, which seems high to me, 36, full no claims, and this is before I even talk about insuring a 2nd car with them, likely to be an Astra/Focus on limited mileage for the daily slog.

So, who can we recommend?

Thanks
Mike

Adrian Flux are pretty good for Caterham insurance. You should be looking at £200-400 depending on where you live, car garaged etc etc.

Hi Mike I would also give sureterm a call very Competitive prices and agreed value you should easily get under £400 a year with 5,000 miles per annum.

Try Steve Hallam at Richard Eggar Insurance on 0115 985 0165

Steve worked for Competition Car Insurance who provide cover to a large percentage of the Caterhams on the road using Chaucer. Included within the policy are 4 free trackdays a year with the majority of the trackday providers. When Eggar Lawson split from CCI, Steve went across to the new operation.

If you drive a similar type of sportscar, Steve will try to give you a good introductory discount. My R400 is covered for £320 for fully comp, upto 5k miles and has the free trackday cover.

If your doing trackdays and want insurance, try Hagerty. If not, only road try MSM.

Eggar L, free trackdays are only UK ones

Adrian flux also give you a discount if you are a Caterham club member. Found them to be very price competitive last year. Also did me a good deal on the daily run about as two cars insured with them = further discount.
