PRS or PPL

we run a LEGIT business and for a number of years have paid for a PRS licence only to be told a couple of years ago that what we actually need is a PPL Licence INSTEAD.

LATELY we have had the PRS people hassling us saying we need their licence and indeed both - whats going on???

I need a definative answer please so I can tell one of em to sling their proverbial self down the road.

Found the answer - YOU NEED BOTH to be able to play music in a public place - radio, CD, internet radio etc!!!

Flippin con if you ask me - from a consumer's perspective - its just utter madness!!!

Yes, you need both. Royal PITA really ... you play the radio, advertising the artists, but have to pay square footage based licences in order to advertise the artist ..

total rip off, but if you refuse they will take you to court
