Baby needs a new pair of shoes - A tyre thread
Discussion
Let me start by saying I did a search and although I'm sure this has been discussed before I coulnt find it.
My Elise needs new Tyres. So whats the best tyre for the s2 lotus elise (standard 120bhp version), given that my car is used as a second car, primarily on the road, though I would maybe like to do a track day or two, its used mainly in summer and very occasionaly during winter, also like most elise owners I'm on a budget.
All advice is welcome
Thanks

Choice of three i reckon for your use... Yoko AD07s are expensive (450 ish) but good road tyres that don't shame themselves when out on track either... Bridgestones which should be a bit cheaper but pretty good allrounders (but I dont have much experience), or the Toyo T1Rs which are pretty cheap (about 300 a set?) and I have found OK on road and track, but certainly dont get the same level of feedback as the AD07s.
You pay your money and you take your choice. I'd avoid the semi slicks (Yoko A048s etc)asthe wear rates arent great for road use (<5000 a set), they tend to make things even more "lively" in the cold and wet and on public roads you cant really exploit the extra grip with threatening life and limb, yours or someone elses. Oh and they're more expensive too!
