Looking for someone to do some work on an older vehicle and I am surprised by the charges I am being quoted for hourly rates.

The work is suspension based such as ball joints. etc.

Is £28 per hour ok for a non franchised essentially back street garage?

28 Pounds sounds about as reasonable rate as likely to find for a genuine garage business. The guy that serviced my A/C last week charged me 43 pounds all in whilst others wanted around twice that. And my A/C works fine now.
