Thankyou for your e-mail which I have decided to refrain from personal reply as I do not wish to reveal my e-mail address to you.
If you read properly through the thread which has so obviously disgruntled you, you will find that I have not abused you personally and I have tried to explain why things happen as they do. This is obviously not enough for you. You are right, have your own opinions. I totally agree with that, that is why I have posted the amaount of information on my personal profile.
I will also point out that I have done that because of a certain amount of abuse that I received some months ago. Although your e-mail is neither abusive nor upsetting, I cannot find a reason why you should wish to highlight those points in my profile only and personally through my e-mail.
I have read and digested your comments in many previous posts to *999* before I decided to reply.
If you read the post in which I described that it leads me to think that you are uninformed and worse a to55er, is because that is what comes across. I am not abusing you but trying to illustrate that you should research your views before you illustrate them.
I am quite happy for you to be anti Police, anti establishement, anti *999*, anti anything you want but you have had a tendancy to upset the apple cart somewhat with gay abandon and without any great thought for what you post.
I do not propose to be right all the time, I do try to be balanced and objective in my replies. I occasionally use colloquial expressions. If in this case it has upset you, then I sincerely apologise.
If you are a troll, then your conduct is what can only be expected.
As with many of the other Police officers on this forum, I post to try and give an insight into the problems from our side of the fence and to explain why things happen as they do, even give advice to help in cases that have gone beyond the pale! I am sorry that you cannot empathise with some of these even if you do not agree.

Mostly I do. Sometimes I am pushed beyond my limits. Ask yourself if you have found them (my limits) as there are over 2000 posts for you to research in which you may well come to a decision. Happy hunting

Gutted that you have to post something like this Madcop... 
Personally, I find your post informative and of great interest... perhaps some of our newer members need reminding that you were given an award at BTaP for this very reason.

Thanks Podie. I am not contemplating leaving because of this one individual. I have taken a slightly less active part in posting as there are many questions which have been already answered and a whole new load of rhetoric about the Police/speeding and such. I am also in the middle of a 2 week course away from home and internet access.
I was surprised and slightly embarrassed at receiving the award at BTAP, as I really felt that I had only tried to put the truth to some urban myths I was reading so no one was putting themselves in a position of disadvantage. I am very grateful though and it is sitting directly above me now, next to my PC consul on a shelf full of law books etc!

I'm quite happy to openly admit that I'm campaigning for Renault-Lacuna banned from the boards - he's abusive, ill informed and has no regard for the conventions and courtesies that we ask contributors to abide by.
PH doesn't need people like him.
We've been through this too many times and lost or almost lost some of our most valuable contributors (MadCop amongst others). I'm not prepared to go thru it any more.
Unfortunately I've not been around so much recently to give a full moderating service with which to discourage, dissuade or ultimately dismember such unhelpful contributors.

Could it be "newby-mania" that has struck? only wondering, 'cos I recall that I was a bit aggy when I first started posting - before I got to realise what a great place this is to hang about, and that if BiB's choose to be here it means they are genuinely interested in a common hobby.
Ok, we all post daft stuff when on the
sometimes, but 99.9% of the time self moderate - well, I try to aplogise if I've ever upset anyone. Unless i think they are deliberatly winding me up.

Unfortunately, there will always be people around with the attitude that has been demonstrated by renault lacuna. He is very much in the minority on here, and i think i speak for all the members of this site that want a balanced and informed viewpoint from "the other side"; It wouldnt be the same without the BIB's here.
Occasionally we all say something that we either dont mean, or it gets misinterpreted, thats ok and can be sorted by a bit of understanding and patcience, something there seems to be a lot of on here, although we do seem to get the occasional "loudmouths"...(stop looking at me will ya?

At the end of it all we have some BIBs on here who regularly go out of their way for the benefit of other members.
R-Lacuna - Look at MadCops posts. You can tell he sits down for hours giving well constructed, lengthy and informative answers to questions which are often repeated time after time. He and the other coppers are under no obligation to do this, yet continue to do so. Are these the actions of officers who don't care? No way
I for one thing they are a good bunch who carry this forum, and if I need any legal advice I can either go pay a solicitor £000's for his views or come on here and get it for free off the people on the front-line.
DONT make it hard for them, they share the same passion as the rest of us, just have different day jobs

I'm glad to say that I've not been in a position yet to have to draw directly on your advice, but it's always struck me that your postings are well informed and balanced. I've certainly never seen any evidence of you 'toeing the line', and it's actually quite refreshing the way you make it clear that although you do your job well there is some legislation you don't agree with, and also that you are no more averse to enjoying the odd perk of the job than anyone else is. Top marks for not trying to adopt a 'holier than than' type attitude!
Anyhow, good on you for taking the time to help out your fellow PHers, and don't let the odd tosser put you off!

I too share the same views as the many other decent folk on these forums.
We need to continue to respect each other and use this medium as a means to share positive information and as Madcop has said to dispell some of the Urban Myths that could get us into a lot of trouble if we believed in them!

I for one, greatly value the BiBs advice and having had recent, 1st hand experience of their job on a day-to-day basis (whilst doing my BikeSafe course) they deserve a big hand rather than a moan!

I've a feeling RL won't be back again, which is a shame in a way. I've been here for a few years and in that time seen some 'interesting' posts from some very opinionated people, they soon get the message though and adapt or vanish.
I've not ever had to resort to the 'panic button' yet but just lately there have been a lot of 'newbies' far too eager to slag someone off. The school hols theory might be on the money
