Time to move on ! New name needed!
Discussion
Well, I have owned the Chim for 4 years now and have loved nearly every minute. There have been ups and downs but what a car!! She's now got to go as a new car forces a sad sale.
I'm going to miss the cherry bombs and the low down grunt something chronic but... the new beast is a stunning Tuscan with an S spec engine. She's reflex purple and needs some work but I can't wait.

The Chim isn't sold yet but after two days I have had a viewing and two enquiries, not bad for February. Just waiting to see what the viewer wants to do, if anything! If she doesnt sell straight away spring is almost upon us, she is a beauty and in fine fettle and will do the new owner proud.
Thanks for all the advice and info sharing from you all, it has been invaluable and calmed my nerves at times. Greatly appreciated.
I now need a new sign in name, V8 Devil needs updating but needs to stay in the same vein! Any suggestions?
Thanks all!
Mike

just curious - did you worry about reliabilty when thinking about switching, and what was the deciding factor for you.
i am tempted to go for a t350 at some point but the S6 does give me the heeby jeebies and make me cling to my rover lump..... (ensure engine is cool before attempting)

I have worried about reliability of the speed six for some years now and have hence stuck with the V8. Sometimes you've go to bite the bullet and go in with your eyes open and be prepared for the worst case scenario. I love the V8 but need a change and the Tuscan is what I want. It's the car I wanted from the start of my TVR experience but decided to cut my teeth on the Chim. I don't regret that for a minute and have had four fantastic years of fun.
I just have to scratch this itch!!!

funny. i know one day i am going to do that to. I wanted a TVR but was very nervous after my friends Cerb snapped a crank and then after an engine rebuild went up in flames. It to a long time to build up to buying one, especially with the OH telling me that I was crazy (based on my friends experience)I just have to scratch this itch!!!
How about'Uleregretit'.........only joking mate, we have just returned to the V8 fold with a beautiful Imperial blue 5ltr Chim, And oh how that V8 roar brings back happy memories. We had a T350c for just over 4 years, and loved every minute of it,the S6 brings its own kind of roar, which is also a great sound.

Now don't be starting that, I'm worried enough as it is. The car I'm buying is a cat d after flood damage and was rebuilt 3000 miles ago before the damage. I'm going to get it fixed up and at present am not sure of the condition of the engine. I have had estimates from £2000-9000 but nothing definate until the engine has been seen. The engine needs stripping and checking and anything needing doing done, cats replaced, electrics checked, front grill refixed and resprayed and carpets cleaned or replaced. There is only the structural damage to the front grill nothing else, so it is really the condition of the engine that is troubling me. At least I'll get a two year warranty when the engine is done.Dave

"Uleregretit" does ring bells!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

'Face Ache' as ya gonna be sick of smiling when you hit that loud peddle. Or 'Crap Ya Pants', as its a whole lot different when ya grabbing hold of the steering wheel cos ya think it ya gonna fly out the back. And before you say it, its got the new modified rear screen so you wont be sucked out. Ooh err!!
