Anyone else find the washer system on the wedge totally poo?? Cant say i use it much (makes the car dirty!!) but if i need to, its rubbish...

Wanted to do this for ages, but called the company who sell the following on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TVR-WASH-WIPER-BLADE-UPGRADE... and spoke to him about just one 22" blade system for the wedge.

£13 inc postage next day delivered! He was the guy who made and sold the originals to TVR for the Chimps, Griffs etc up to tuscans!

He's going to add the wedge to his listings now he knows the size!

Ill report when its on the car!! thumbup

I've got the original Griffith loop thingy, which I bought from the Sprint magazine when I first bought the Wedge. Works a lot better than the original washer jet, but this looks like a far better idea.

Well done that man!!!!clap

My guess is that this would freeze up much more easily, being exposed. So you'd need a lot of meths in the water.

Let us know how it performs!

He would have to take it out in the cold though for that to happen wink

I think Blaine has also done this mod to his 400se.

I have the same system fitted to my new golfers / poofs / hairdressers car and it works really well.

Hows them carpets coming along Matt?

Im hoping this is as good as it looks! Ill keep ya posted!

Carpets wise...its slow, with work and other stuff going on, it hard to get time in the garage! Still, aiming for the car to be all sorted, tested etc by the 1st April....fingers crossed!!! thumbup

Matt,

I dumped the original single washer jet for a Citroen BX (If I remember correctly) part, which consists of a couple of plastic clips, which clip on the wiper arm, and a loop of tubing with four or five holes in it. Had to make up an adaptor from a piece of brake pipe and a short piece of 3/16" brass tube to adapt the plastic tube from the washer pump to the new spray tube, but other than that its a simple fit. Had to replace the tube from the pump to the jet with a longer bit as well (IIRC)

Works very well, on the occasions I'm caught out in the wet.. I do like to see the bits of scenery I'm about to hit!

Regards,

Brian (and a Red 350i)

The Citroen/Peugeot one works better because the spray bar is more than half the length of the blade, but going faster works best.Tempus smile

Years ago I fashioned a spray bar out of some mini Hozelock irrigation parts and a few Ty-wraps and a length of model engine silicone fuel pipe. It looks a lot more professional than it sounds wink

Well, was working at home today so fitted this at lunch time (as it arrived next day!) and its really good!!

Works, looks very discrete and i would defo reccomend it!

Mines from Storm Wipers and was a 22" blade which fits bang on!!!
