Anyone know the front brake piston seal No?

Hi all,

I have noticed a split in my front brake piston seal for a S3c - does anyone know the part No or which sierra is it from ? I have looked on alternative parts list and I cant see it.

If worse comes to worse I may do - I think they maybe Sierra 2.0 or 2.3D, mine are fresh painted. Will see you soon.

hi sean assuming you have the 240mm dia discs then bigg red do them as part no br205414 these are for the 2.0 ltr sierra with 54mm dia pistons dead easy to fit big reds phone no is 01905 428793 or www.biggred.co.uk they also supplied 2 new bleed screws at £1.50 each... fast delivery also.. ps the kit comes with all the rubber bits as well as the seals about £16.00

Amazing! This forum is so useful. Two days ago found one caliper with exactly the same problem. My factor doesn't list a kit anymore so I thought I would ask the forum.....the very day Sean asked the same question. Thanks for the advice, new seals are now on their way from biggred, cost is currently £19.80 plus P&P. It is also biggred listing on ebay but, in view of the big increase in fees that sellers now have to pay to ebay, I went to him direct.

Just occurred to me; there is nothing on the Alternative Parts List re the front brake caliper or seals. Is there a mechanism for getting this extremely valuable document updated? Looks like it was updated for the Kia indicators but not since for the BMW E30 or Nissan Terrano information. Similarly, if I can sort out this boot strut issue, how does that information get added to the reference material?

hi as some know im rebuilding my s2 i have sourced several parts not on the list,when the car is finished and the parts i have used are proved i will list all the part nos and add them to the alt parts list

This list is updated as and when I receive any info, and have continued to update with info since my S days, I merely keep a list of the info for the S and Chimaera which I now drive. I would not wish to think I own this list, the info is for owners to have free access to and I hope it assists. Please feel free to link copy or print the info, it is unfortunate on a previous occasion I found that someone was trying to sell a printed copy on ebay. I prefer to share any info I have so please feel free to send any info to add to the list at any time.

I went into my local auto factor today and matched the rear CV boot. £4.50 (TSB85) and top upper wishbone ball joint £9.50 (VSJ388) - fitted earlier so its good for an S3c, much cheaper than I was quoted by TVR place(cv boot - £16, ball joint - £31) - they looked up my front brake caliper as I told the I got some seals, they quoted me £28 per side new - I even got them to double check the price.

Thanks Steve (S27), now I know how the alternative list works (and it is certainly very much appreciated) I will try to add a couple of bits of info.
I am going to post separately on front brake part numbers before adding to the parts list.
