Classic ticket allocation

Got my Classic LeMans ticket allocation through from the ACO today

When you say that you've received your ticket allocation what does that mean in practical terms? I have purchased entry, grandstand and paddock tickets direct from lemans.org sales website and paid online. Have received an email confirming payment. As a first time direct from ACO purchaser I do not know quite what to expect by way of other confirmations etc. Do I now just wait for delivery or should I be expecting further contact from them prior to delivery? Can anyone enlighten a lost soul?

John, I'm in exactly the same situation as you re tickets etc. for Le Classic Le Mans 2008. I have checked with ACO and they have told me to expect all my tickets etc to be delivered in April. Lowdrag lives close by the circuit so he can pop in, check things out, and collect his tickets anytime!

Oops, it wasn't Lowdrag it was NormanD who is based in Surrey, so I'm not sure how he's managed to be all set up now!. R

What Norman has is an old style allocation where you email them for tickets prior to them having anything on the website. It's the way it's worked for years before they tried this new fangled online ordering system!

You send an email or fax a form to the ACO, the ACO put them in a big pile until they get round to sorting them. Then they send you an allocation confirming what they are able to offer you. You send it back saying what you want from what they've offered and give them your credit card details. They debit your credit card and send an invoice.

At some point nearer the event they then send the tickets out.

My allocation arrived today so I'm happy too

Well the allocation letter arrived today, 2 Maison Blanche, 2 Gen Admin.....except I got spooked by Karting Nord selling out last week and bought tickets online.

I've got 2 weeks to take up the MB allocation, if anybody wants to use these then get in touch. At least being on KN means Burriana can truck along with us now, swings and roundabouts.

Ahh good thinking batman, I think I might go for the same plan....I assume that's an option on the allocation letter (haven't seen it yet)?

My allocation letter arrived today as well. At MB as requested although I did make a fairly late addition so I have got 4 ACO grandstand tickets and 2 for the next tribune.

Had not thought of collecting in June, good idea

I just crossed out the postage.

Scaned the letter and CC details to email back with a covering comment on the email to confirm I would collect at the 24Hr

Did you get in before the "stock exhausted" sign came out for Karting Nord? BSJ has been added online but you dont want to be all the way out there when the Igloo ice box full of biere isn't.

Er, well, I have my tickets already sorted. I at the moment have a mechanic's pass, a marshal's pass and my press pass. I think that should do!

NO!!!! Bloody Stock exhausted ... so now I'm scratching my head where to get a KN camping pass from. Any other ticket outlets that are best to try first?

Phil, are you in the ACO Grandstand and if so, are they allocated seat numbers?

I'm in the ACO Grandstand, ticket allocation just says 2 tickets, no numbers.
Although the allocation for the 24Hr is just the same.

So ticket numbers are only on the tickets.

Can't I/We just turn up "on the day" and get a 'General Admission' for the whole event (Le Mans Classic 2008) like a did two years ago for the Le Mans 24hr? It wasn't a problem at ll then...just turned up and bought tickets from one of the kiosks by the circuit...no pre-booking, queuing or anything.

We're not bothered about sitting in the Grandstand or anything...just want to come and go really...the wife and three kids would get bored sitting in one place for too long watching the cars anyway.

I see no reason why not... You can do it for the main event, so I see no reaosn why not for Classic... The only limited tickets are campsite, paddock and grandstand entry..
