1997 E38 740i - buyers questions

Hi guys,
I'm close to buying one of these chaps.
It is extremely low mileage, with a very tidy interior, bonnet and boot paint is a bit scruffy, but that can be sorted.

What, specifically should i look out for ?
Is it easy to source and fit clear indicator lenses?
Can the SatNav system/unit be upgraded? where would i get one from and how much should i budget for?
What annual running costs, apart from fuel, should i budget for?

Anything you can tell me will be most useful and gratefully receibed.

I've got a set of clear indicators here if you want them David ... Brand new and boxed for a tenner.
ETA...fitting is a doddle...

Go for a 4.4 not a 4.0 cos of the Nikasil issues(both were badged as 740) - the age of yours should be a 4.4.

Dash Pixels - either not working or fading in and out.

Be prepared to renew some suspension bushes - they have lots and they do wear.

Vibrations from drivetrain at 70 - 85 can be a bugger to fix - its a trial and error jobbie - can be caused by tyres, wheels, prop, bushes.
