I have some Icebreaker stuff which is merino wool. Very thin and warm and doesn't smell after a few days use. Not cheap, though.
Merino is great - and Icebreaker is some of the best Merino you can get. Unlike my other stuff it can be thrown in the wash at 40 degrees without shrinking to small child's size!If you know anyone heading to NZ it's way cheaper there. I'll be stocking up when I go later this year.
