I need a new windscreen wiper for my S1. I was planning on changing to an S2 wiper arm to make the change easier in future however nowhere seems to be stocking these at the present. So apart from going to a dearler at cough cough prices anyone have an idea where I could get one from. So far I have tried,

Local scrapyard maybe? (Not that we like to think of our P&J being in such places!)

Muchos gracias.

I've been looking for this online too. Couldn't find it on B&C before for some reason.

I had a similar problem and for once trawled through the forums and got the following parts about 3 weeks ago:

ARM

http://www.elise-shop.com

Sub-Total: 23.52 EUR

BLADE

PS:
I think that the blade is a Valeo 15 from a 1994 Renault Espace (rear blade, perhaps?) - It is not listed under 'Lotus'!
SELOC was the source for all this info.

That's what I'm fitting when the arm arrives. I'll let you know what I think.

I don't have a picture I'm afraid but you shouldn't really need one.

If you remove the adaptor from the wiper blade (turn it 90 degrees to the wiper arm and it should just pop off) then you'll find it easier to see how it fits. The U shape in the arm fits inside the adaptor so that the bit on the end sits outside of the U. This prevents it from slipping off. A common mistake is to try and fit the entire adaptor into the U.

Once you've sorted it, you'll need to remove the adaptor, refit to the wiper blade and then refit the arm.

If you still can't figure it out, I'll take a photo tonight. I've got the Valeo blade but I'm sure the adaptor is very similar.

Having just aquired myself an early S1 and (stupidly. Very stupidly) buying a new wiper blade off Lotus for it (€47!), is the point of the conversion purely for the cheaper blades or is there some other benefit?

Cheers.

The new S2 arm allows you to put on better blades like the Valeo VM15 that has a built in spray bar.

The S2 arm also has a stronger spring to give better contact with the widescreen and less streaking, you can also fold the wiper away from the windscreen and get it to lock in place unlike the S1 which just pings back to the windscreen.

I'd highly recommend the mod, the visibility through the widescreen in the rain has been greatly improved and it's an easy and cheap job.

Mine's an S1, I put on the S2 arm a while ago and have just put on the Valeo vm15 blade- you will have to reroute the washer tube to the arm to fit this blade but only takes 10 mins and is loads better.Get some washer tube from ebay.
Also just upgraded the wiper relay with the golf mk3 relay. gives a single sweep wash wipe- and variable time on intermitent, you set the time delay for as long as you want!
Sorted!!
