Nitron shocks, which way UP!
Discussion
Just been on the nitron web site for the first time, as looking at changeing my spring rates. Sure the std 325 and 400 rates are too hard and some softer ones combined with the bump/bound adj would improve the ride. The first thing is though they say they are designed to run inverted? Now i thought from my knowledge of bikes havingninverted shocks meant the sprung part was bottom of the shcok ie the wheel wishbone end. Not im sure without being at car I cannot check now, but mine are so the adjuster and thus the sprung end are fitted to the chassis end of the shocks connection?
Any ideas or how your springs are set up?

How do you know when they need a re-gas? I would hope for a lot more than 1-2 years service out of mine before they need re-gassing/re-building!
Noticeable difference in ride quality, even when adjusting the dampners to their softest setting. Mine needed regassing after that period, I don't believe that is particularly unusual though, from speaking to others who had them. Personally, I wouldn't have them agin for that reason alone.Sicob said:
I ran Nitrons on my elise upside down. i think you get more dirt ingress into the winder mechanism this way up though. Used white grease to try prevent it though. Only issue I have with Nitrons is the need to regas every 1-2 yrs.
How much does the regassing cost? I will leave running them upside down for now. I am interested in fitting the eibach springs to the nitrons now, and thinking of running a softer spring rate too. What do people think to that?tuscan_al said:

Re-build cost for Nitrons is about £50 each, although this can take some time depending how busy they are. I had mine on my previous Tuscan rebuilt after about four years. Gassing Station | Tuscan | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
