Power steering failure on S4 V8 and warranty claims.....?

Back in November time, the power steering on my wife's 2004 S4 completely failed & Audi replaced the power steering pump drive sleeve under warranty as it had sheered its teeth!!! All was then fine.

Until tonight.....

She arrived home saying that the power steering has again failed and is making the same groaning noises as happened previously. Unfortunately, the warranty has now expired. She is taking it back to Audi on Monday for them to assess the cause now.

I guess I have 2 questions to the PH population:

1: Does anyone know if this is a common fault on the S4?

2: Having been "repaired" under warranty only 3 months ago, what are my chances of getting this further repair completed at Audi's expense (even though the vehicle is now out of warranty by some 6 weeks or so), as it appears that they didn't fix the fault first time round?

Any advice appreciated!

All Audi parts come with a 2 year warranty....so you are covered!
