Can we stop with "The worst **** thread ever....." posts?

These really are getting tedious in the extreme. Virtually every thread now seems to have some "hilarious" use of the above phrase posted within a few minutes of it opening.

It was witty once or twice when it first started but now, come on, it's sooo crap.

Get over it. Its only the odd reply in hundreds in any given thread, and you can skim straight through it and mentally block this kind of rubbish easily. It really is pointless, but then again, so is getting worked up about it.

What I've seen on some other large sites would be quite good for dealing with all this, "me too, mememe, i wanna be part of the injoke!" stuff - you can thumbs-up or thumbs-down an individual post, and anything that gets a significant enough negative rating doesn't get shown unless you check some special, "I like hearing the futile bleepings of Internet saddos" tickbox on the options.

Probably brings with it a whole raft of other problems though, no doubt.
