My day is getting better all the time and it's Friday!

Last August my Canon EOS 300D broke leaving me pretty miserable. I then planned to buy a 40D in Dubai as some you may remember however the prices were crap and I ended up buying an engagement ring for the other half instead.
Today however two good things happened.
I saw the car of my dreams once again parked outside my house:

.....and today my camera has miraculously started working once again!!!
While preparing it to take it to a Canon dealer to get it fixed, I heard a little rattle inside the body again. After a bit of gentle shaking, a tiny silver screw fell out.
I've no idea what it's for but I'm sure it still needs fixing however I tried the battery again and it worked!!!
I'm off to Slovenia this weekend so the timing couldn't be better!
Any idea what it could be?

thats really good news, i've got the 300D so if i hear something rattling i'll be sure to remove the battery and strip it down.
it's more than likely to have been shorting something out causing the camera not to work and lucky for you nothing burnt out.
as a guess it'll be a screw for holding the logic board inplace and because there's no earth needed it'll probably not be needed....purely guess work mind.
i'd keep using it but plan on replacing it anyway as the 350D and 400D's are comming down in price
