'CanAmDave' dropped in on me a couple of weeks ago and commented on my water/oil cooler being on the 'hot' side of the engine and not the cool side from the radiator, I thought about this for a while and decided to bite the bullet and take the engine out and put it on the 'cool' side, this was a bit of a mistake as one thing lead to another and I ended up, relocating my fuel pump (again!) plus I have added another pump so I now have two pumps, one for each tank (even though the tanks are connected). I have replaced the sandwich plate with a thermostat one, and I'm now guessing that I should clean the accusump, anyone got any tips for this??? I have downloaded a file but it only shows me installation set up not actually how to strip it, one thing I did notice was the fitment of a one way valve on the Tee connector from the accusump which I haven't done, any one else fitted or not fitted this valve?
I'll get some pics up at the weekend if I get time.
I should be getting my gearbox back from GBOX next week, properly converted to run inverted.

If yours is a more recent Accusump, you need to make a simple tool which locates in the alloy end where it has been partially drilledseveral times (the end which takes the main valve - oil side) make sure you bleed all the air out of the system using the relief valve and drain the oil.
BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DISTORT THE TUBE, IF IS IT DAMAGED YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT.
The end then just unscrews - push the plunger all the way back, clean out (I used brake cleaner), pour some oil back into unit. reassemble and pressurise to around 17psi.
Job done.

So it's all my fault! Hey Graham! 
I've just collected my new flywheel and starter today! The engine and box are coming out on Monday to make way for the new box. I hope to paint the new box tomorrow. I should get it all back together in a couple of weeks but you know how these things go!
I hope your box comes back safe from the US. At least yours will go back in with no issues.

Errr....why wouldn't you want it on the hot side?
If it is on the hot side of the system then you can do away with the thermostat, the engine will warm up faster and you will get maximum engine cooling from the cooling system.
Once it is on the cold side the whole cooling system will be less effective - probably not disastrously so, but definately not an improvement on the previous situation.

It's six of one half a dozen of another. The main problem for an Ultima is cooling while stationary. And it also depends on the oil you are using, either synthetic or mineral. There are pros and cons for either side.
