Would it be possible to build a "Useful Links" Wiki ?

you know the sort of thing I mean, that we and new members in particular would benefit from ...

for example... and of course there will be loads more...

Great idea there is so many links to different companies where parts can be easily sourced and it would help newbie’s to easily find the ideas and suppliers at a glance

I should have known... Duh! yer a regular Genius Colin ! thats pretty well what I was trying to emulate... I suppose we just need to create a Wiki/sticky to point to your great pages and thats about it... the burden will be on you to keep it topical of course

I forget how much info is on there... I know theres links to Owners websites too...

Excellent idea Kev!

I think a Wiki would be a neater solution than a sticky... it's all there for you at once without having to scroll through a (potentially) multiple page thread.

Also easier to update and correct errors/omissions, I think.

I'm obviously biased but shouldn't the members sites come before all the commercial links for buying bits etc?

It might also be useful if the members site links included a short description eg photos of body-off or pics of SCH or general gittering ste (ie mine)

What about a section on insurance recommendations? I think this might be quite useful for new owners, but I'm not precisely sure what the rules allow in relation to recommending/endorsing specific companies...

Hi All

Let me say right away that I do not consider the Useful Links Wiki to be "Mine"... I suggested it originally sure, and am happy to administer it for those who dont want to do so themselves for whatever reason.
So I think as long as there is concensus, it should be changed or "developed" to suit our needs...
One thing that was a concern of mine and has been repeated to some degree above and in the emails I've received so far is the question of when does a useful link become a blatant commercial advertisement, I dont know the answer to that but I think as long as the advertisement has useful informative content (which many do) or has an amount specific to our beloved S Series then that would be OK.
So, its "Our" Wiki for those who think it is useful. Use it, develop it and enjoy it...
I will add more Links that have been sent to me as soon as I can, taking care to avoid duplicates.

Re the advertising if the website is info only (i.e owners sites)or a site we have found then i dont see a problem
