Chimaera as daily drive
Discussion
I am thinking of getting rid of my saab at using the chimaea as my daily car. She's done 86k and seems to be in very good working order especially now the relays are fixed and I can start her
.
The question is how pratical is it. My commute can range from a few miles to 120 miles a day. I just wondered if the increased usage is likely to rattle out mechanical issues.
All words of encouragement and advice on the practicality’s will be gratefully received.

I did over 15k miles in my Griffith last year without any problem.

I've been commuting in mine almost every day since I picked her up in early Nov - only about 15 miles each way a day, but makes my day so much more fun
Actually it's not quite long enough to enjoy as I spend most of it warming up, but what am I going to do - move further from work so I can enjoy the drive?!
I'd say go for it, but can't say it's based on a long term perspective - my 4 months is hardly conclusive. However, not sure I'd fancy the concept of a 120mile commute on the days when it's chucking it down

I commute in mine between 3 and 60 miles per day. It is good fun (especially since I went straight through with the exhausts - well worth it to add a little extra fun) but I would say that in the cold and wet winter days it can be a handful. Also, if your commute involves a lot of stop-start queuing in traffic then your clutch leg gets a real workout.

I have used mine everyday to commute for the past 10 months, doing about 200 miles a week. I have found it to be great as an everyday car.
Massive boot carrys everything i need, and it is fine in the rain and ice if you take it easy.
Obviously doing more miles means that you will get more wear and tear, have to service it more regularly and fill it up with petrol more regularly which of course means greater expense to run.
I may get another car this year to commute in purely because of the running costs involved with the TVR, otherwise it is a very good everyday car.
