Anyone got any experience of one of these?

Just won one "by accident" after a speculative bid on ebay (no begger outbid me...); bike is a 91 on an "H" plate, black with lurid purple shellsuit graphics and wheels; very 90's.

I've already had several of the 90's triples (cracking bikes Grommet), but never a four cylinder jobbie.
I know they were only in Triumphs range for two years, but was this because they were crap/unreliable, because everyone bought proper sports bikes instead, or because it was just not the right bike for Triumph buyers back then?

Appreciate anyones advice.

quite heavy and outgunned in a big way when the blade turned up.. (mostly in the agility and weight department)
Not a bad hack though and i dont remmeber any major reliability issues.

for a decent price i might take it off your hands as a commuter. :-)

unpopular model as it had the revvy engine rather than the torquey 1200 .should be ok as build quality was always quite good on triumphs .

Yes! That's the one!

How come none of these selfish beggers outbid me on it? Surely it's worth more than that (anyone want to buy a Triumph Daytona 1000...?)
Incidentally, I spoke to the current owner by phone and the vin number is only 596 (i.e. it's one of the first 1000 handbuilt bikes to come out of the factory). Surely that means something to a proper collector and not just a spanner monkey like me?

Now I have to get from Edinburgh down to Liverpool by van to collect it, and all by 2 pm tomorrow.

Early start...
