The TVR left on pick up truck at 7.30am this morning. Major misfire impossible to drive...

Then went to get in the Audi and doors wouldnt open. Had to hold the unlock button to drop the windows and let myself in.

Hope its nothing serious - assume it baffled the AA/RAC man enough to call in the low loader... Had it got progressively worse, and symptoms beforehand etc.?

Im not with the RAC/AA. I joined rescue my car.com £45/year with home start. They brought a low loader out straight away. Cant complain at that.

It had been in for the tapping noise i questioned a few weeks back. They took the top of and said the timing chain needed slight adjusting. I got it back at 8pm yesterday. By 8.02 it was horrible. Credit to the garage they already have the car back in and sorting it out. They think its a coil.

Good to hear its something simple. Annoying that this was probably caused by dislodging things when fixing the rattle.

Shes back on the drive now. It was a crank sensor that went. Also whilst it was there they noticed a few things and sorted it all out.
