EBC discs for a 97 450

Ive bought some EBC discs and Ive got the wrong ones. They are 260x47mm. Ive just offered them up to the originals for comparison and they are not as deep.They are part number GD555 which after checking on the EBC website are for a 98 onwards. The 97 should be GD150 which are 260x53mm. So the questions are will they fit, and if so what difference will it make? And why a 6mm difference between the year?

The majority of 260mm discs fitted to Griffs and Chims are 53mm height,some are different.If you have a different height disc compared to what you should have then the spacing of the caliper will need to be altered accordingly to ensure the disc runs in the middle of the caliper.

Thanks, next question---how do you adjust the spacing of the caliper????
