other than the obvious - ones a hard top and the rear screen is not there on the exige (and the side pods

are there any major differences between a std exige 190bhp and an elise 111R, i have posted about daily driving an exige but i could get a newer elise with the same power/performance for the same money

i like the idea of the exige but i would probably convert the roof so its removeable/soft top so i guess i may as well get an elise???

cheers

Stiffer suspension, semi slick tyres (not good for every day car), more downforce...

Yep, suspension and tyres are the main change. The Exige is just that little bit sharper, bit more on-edge in terms of handling. TBH on the road not a lot in it but I do prefer the suspension in my '04 Exige over the '06 Elise I had for a few weeks.

can you not change tyres and shocks on the elise to exige stuff?

You could but TBH there's better suspension anyway and although the A048's are pretty special (in the dry) you're better with A039's or the Elise '07's for road use.

Unless you really are driving at 9/10ths ont he road an Elise is more than good enough. The Exige only really comes into it's own on track and even then only if you know how to exploit it's strengths.

Have you driven either yet?

I believe the 111R is a much better road car. Rides the shocking surfaces better giving you more faith to carry speed and tyres are more suited to changing conditions.

Exige should come into its own on track with sticky tyres, stiffer shocks/springs and extra downforce, but there's no a lot of difference between them.

My 2cents, 111R (with hard top for winter) keep extra money for extra set of wheels with stickies and suspension upgrades. Best of both worlds!
