Wyn As well you know, there is only 1 place to store the hood...... & thats in the Garage, ready for the next owner.
I am sure everyone will be telling you that you will be back in a wedge again soon.
It does look very nice. So thats 2 trips to Ettington Chase this year then.

Thanks guys. Back in Wdgedom soon? ...Don't know, totally smitten at the mo. Looks, feels, even sounds awsome with the sleeved zorst. Can't believe I've got one.
Ug, next good weekend I'll be out boyo, you can have a go.

.....Can't even be bothered to drive mine! Hope you get on with your's better than I have with mine Wyn, initial ownership does indeed feel grand, sitting in it on the drive wondering how on earth I ended up owning one of my all time fantasy cars...
Wait until summer though when the heater will boil you're balls off, stupid roof won't fit in the boot tidy, back roof doesn't fold down far enough to see out of the back, the under bonnet heat fries everything including the coil, leads, starter motor and everything else!, not enough leg room for passengers, hot start issues, 'playing cards' in the spokes zorst sound!, built down to a price construction....just to name a few!
IMHO of course! ;-)
Somebody says 'cluck' I might come in the Landrover! you know what they say about making fantasies come true..
Nice colour though Wyn, I do like Black cars and it does make curvy TVR's look meaner somehow.

Griff looks very nice, hope you enjoy it.
Back in the beginning of the '90s started to be involved with the factory for my graduation project (didn't happen dough!), when first prototypes Griffs were built/tested. Would like such another TVR machine with my wedge (like in wedge will never go), and hope things go well to be able to afford one in 5-10 years time.
The wedge was and still is my favourite shape/TVR, griff comes at a close second. How do you call that, best of both worlds if you have both?

Well Wyn, seems like you're slipping into Griffdom OK.
Had a very interesting and trouble free 185 mile drive home last night in the wedge, got my confidence by the time I'd got to the tunnel near Swansea on the M4, goes well doesn't she!!
Couldn't make her misbehave at all!
Started "fettling" her today, problem is the Plenum/bonnet situation! Does anyone have any suggestions? Baically the bonnet is fouling with the plenum cover, I've had a few thoughts:-
1) Modify engine mounts to drop the whole thing, but that could cause problems with changed propshaft angle, manifolds and ancilliaries fouling on chassis/body etc etc
2) Machine plenum, trumpets, cover etc., but that involves a fair bit of work, possible reduction in performance, risk of leaks etc.
3) Put a "power bulge" in the bonnet, cheap and quick as the bonnet needs a repair/respray BUT do I want to incur the combined wrath and possible ostracisation of Wedgedom?
Any suggestions guys, this must have cropped up before!

Very glad you had a good trip back Karl. If she didn't mis behave you can't have bin trying hard enough

Have a look at the mk1 350i bonnet on this one . This might be an option?

Is there a plenum insulator fitted? That would probably raise it 10mm or so?My Series 1(and a half!) 350i has the bonnet Wyn mentioned and I do have a deep impression of my plenum on the bonnet lining (flattened to the GRP), so I don't know how much this mod would help.
And Wyn - enjoy the curves!

Well Karl, firstly thats a nice wedge you have there 1) Modify engine mounts to drop the whole thing, but that could cause problems with changed propshaft angle, manifolds and ancilliaries fouling on chassis/body etc etc
2) Machine plenum, trumpets, cover etc., but that involves a fair bit of work, possible reduction in performance, risk of leaks etc.

(I used to own it)I have already looked at the engine mounts and don't think they could be adjusted. It is strange however that the 350i or 390se the engine came out of had no problems with the bonnet closing properly???
If you machine the plenum, you may well hinder prformance.
As for the bonnet bulge, or Mk1 bonnet, this is the way I'd go. I did try a bonnet bulge and didn't like it:

HOWEVER, if you look at Cirks bulge on his 450se, it looks awesome:

I did post the same problem up in Feb 06. See thread below:

Good luck bud.

Karl, were you hoovering up all the O2 near the MK Dons last night around 6?
Yes! But not in the real car, I was using the company Beemer. Took the Wedge to work today though, not doing that again in a hurry, must have cost me a couple of gallons with everyone wanting to hear the exhaust! Can't understand it myself
