Very nice. thumbup
The opposite to what seems 'right'; front to the bottom, top to the front - does that make sense? Dead easy once you've done it a few times. smile

And stick the left end in first, shove left then force right end in and down.

I keep mine in the PVC bag so it's even tougher!

(if you don't use the bag you'll get a shiny patch where it rubs on the fuel tank)

hehe That's the closest I got. I was afraid to do any forcing in case I ripped the rubber seals off.

I find that the bag often catches the rubber edging on the boot edge on the way out and lifts it up, but it's an easy matter to push it back down.

Some people have an aftermarket split hood; not sure if this for sale or a DIY thing.

Wyn, looks like I forgot to leave the hood bag in the car then - sorry! I have it at home in London but getting it to you is going to be tricky now that you have my car lol! I'll sort something out - do yourself a favour and don't put the hood in the boot without the bag, you'll damage it.

Welcome to one of the most exclusive clubs in TVR ownership thumbup

You will soon get the hang of popping the panel in the boot yes

Enjoy her and treat her with the respect she deserves smileyou won't stop grinning then you will start down the route of making it even better starting with removing the precats yes

I love the dash btw

I know that many view putting the hood in it's bag as a pain in the ass but this is what can happen if you don't....

That was the result after 4 years of care free, 'chuck the roof in the boot and go' motoring. The original vinyl bags are arkward to use but they could be modified by cutting them down one of the long edges and adding some kind of fastner, like a long strip of velcro.

The Leven replacement hood bag is pretty good, the material is a bit more flexible than the standard one and I find the hood slides into the boot easier with it compared to the old one.

Thanks for the nice comments chaps. It's an ex cat c, but it's in great shape & the interior is very good. The chassis will need the body off treatment in a year or two but at the mo I'm going to clean, treat & waxoil everything in sight to stop the tin worm in it's tracks. I've learned a lot from treating three Wedge chassis & I can confirm that the powder coating on the Wedges is far superior to anything I've seen on the Griff/Chimp's I've inspected in the last few weeks. These things are in serious trouble now....all of them..yes The coating on this thing is coming off like thinly applied wet chalk!!!...yikes . I think I'm going to be busy in the next few weeks. hehe

BTW, wheres the best place to get a replacement Clutch Master Cylinder?

Thanks in advance. thumbup

Anybody got a spare roof bag up or grabs? I've been meaning to get one for mine for a while now.

Very Nice PWD95 and exactly the same colour combo (including dash) as 'Cornish Boy's' down here in the South West. In fact you can tag along to the Growl with the three Moonraker Black cars coming up from Penzance way; we'll pick you up en route. smile

Oh, and be careful stowing that roof panel. Yesterday I noticed another 'starburst' in the paintwork just forward and below the left rear light cluster. More expense furious .
I'm sure this is caused by clumsy stowage; may be worthwhile padding these regions with some foam rubber.

Nice car Wyn biggrin Thats 2 of us in a month that have made the move! There'll be no wedgers left soon!
My roof's a tight squeeze too, might have a go at making a cover myself, with some leatherette and velcro, or what about some stretchy lycra material, like a big stretchy sock? so the cover doesnt take up much room? ANyone tried this?

I founs "TVR car parts" the best place for the clutch master cylinder when I replaced mine on the wedge, the nipple was the right size and the rod was the right length too (unlike the first one I bought from Merlin). Not sure what problems there are on the griff tho, to get one to fit.
Hope you're still coming to the BBWF, I am!

Welcome aboard pwd95. It's a bit of a mad house in here some times but by and large they are a nice bunch biggrin

As for the roof in the boot. A tip from me is to make sure there is nothing in the left (Nearside) corner of the boot. It's a good storage space once the roof is in but anything down there when you are trying to get the roof in or out just gets in the way.
