Has anyone made the change from Goodyears Eagle F1s (gsd3) to their new assymetric that they said was intended to replace the former? EVO mag seem to rate the new tyre highly , though that wasn't on a TVR.
I've had many sets of the Eagle F1s and am pretty happy with them, wear is more than acceptable, grip is good though they do get quite slippery in the cold and wet but not disasterously so.

I've put them on the front as I couldn't get the old arrow shaped tread pattern, done about 3K miles on them.

Grip is great, seem better in the wet on the motorway, but that might just be new tyres V old. Grip when cold? Well I only drive like Miss Daisy when it's wet/cold/slippery and they seem just fine.

I just miss that tread pattern

Not a TVR, but a 400 bhp 200sx.... for me, the assymetricals are a lot better than the old F1's smile

Currently I have the old (GSD3?) Eagle F1s all round on my Tuscan. The rears will need changing soon. Will it be ok for me to have the new Eagle F1 Asymmetric on the rear mixed with the old ones on the front? Are you able to safely mix asymmetric and symmetric?

Dave - how are you getting on with this?

Do you think I should put the new Eagle F1 Asymmetric on the front and move the old ones on the front to the rear?

I have a mix at the moment. The older f1's on the rear, newer asymetric on the front. There's no noticable difference with this mix, but of course do change both on the same axle.

I think the difference between the two is the tread pattern on the asymetric shifts much more water, which means you get a better grip in wet weather. I've not noticed any difference in the dry.
