Just out of curiosity, what's the weight difference between a LS2 and a older SBC such as my 1977 one as I believe the LS2 is all alloy yes?

I just drove my LS yesterday and I have to make this suggestion to all that choose (like I did) to mount the fuel pump on the rear firewall. It is really loud and drives me nuts. I'm not sure if yours is mounted there or not, but if it is, take this opportunity to find some sound isolating mounts. I'll be doing that soon as I find some really good ones. Anyone know of which I speak?

Otherwise your installation looks great!

Looks great, Simon! Won't be long now.

I think the weight difference between an iron SBC and an ali LSx is about 88 to 100 lbs.

I'm putting that on the bulkhead, too. It's supposed to be the best stuff available and it looks great.

C&R Racing is where I got mine. But, there are a couple of other suppliers. ATL Fuel Cells has it. Search for metallized polyamide insulation. It's a gold vapor deposit that makes it shine. I believe it's made in silver and aluminum, also.

Simon, what preparation did you make to the GRP before adhearing the insulation? I have been trying to decide if I should knock the shine off before putting the gold film on, or just wipe it down with brake cleaner.

Got the engine back in now, the exhaust coating seems ok.
After SVA I will look at a box around the air filter but time is runninig out so it will have to wait.

Sweet .... bandit

Good luck for the SVA, but by the looks of things, luck won't be needed. Class job.

None other than wiping with thinners seems to have taken well
