My 996 C4 Cab is coming to the end of it's waranty life..ie 2 years old the 1st Sept.

Is the warranty worth the money?

This subject has been covered many times before. A search using the words 'warranty' and '996' for the last 6 months should yield instant info...

Short answer is 'it depends'.
You'll find the long answer in the archives.

Remember to book the car in for a pre warranty expiry checkover (normally about a month before expiry). I know my OPC does this checkover free of charge.

If you have any outstanding warranty issues not resolved at expiry your OPC should do a letter to Porsche GB confirming the problems so that attempted repairs can continue outside of the warranty period.

wise words from Dom & Daz .. boyfly it's the sods law syndrome, if you spend the 700 odd pounds you won't need to claim, if you don't buy it you'll have various fault's & wish you had...no win either way. The only other benefit to taking it out is resale if you plan to sell privately in the next year & it still has warranty this will aid the sale. Best of luck

Are they the same warranty? If they are you have it until the anniversary of the car purchase (Oct).

If they are different, ie one is specifically manufacturer's and one is specifically dealer's then you have until Sep for them both, then only the dealer's until Oct.

Given the choice I would go for the warranty.

My car is now 16 years old, and its only done 145,000 miles however there is a slight rattle in the interior, and the engine leaks a bit. No doubt after 20 years I might have to replace a bit of trim...
