In a word no.

My God this is getting into TVR territory.

Just had a 10K service, £240 and £10 of that was insurring the free loaner.

What I say is, if you can't afford the car, sell it!

Ok, well lets see if I have read this right, to be accepted into the plan I will need to have my car serviced and inspected and brought up to first class standards, yes?

So if lets say there is a slight whine from the G/box, I take it that I will have to pay for a service exchange unit, plus labour, + + anything else so deamed to have wear it in it, yes?

Also if I break down away from the garage I have to have the car shipped back at my expense?

Mmmmmm been down this route before, and there aint no free lunches!

Bearing in mind its optional to take this out why so much flack...? Surely we would be better discussing other things like the Santa Pod RWYB thread and organising another meet there (bias as my car is now back on the road!)cool

Yes, if you have more money than sense.

No flack...... just wondering if anyone would think it worthwhile.

Monkfish do a sterling job - might be good for them to get some potential customer feedback on the plan too?

.....just a thought.

I think some may have missed a couple of key points. The initial service price is a one off. Once on the plan its the monthly fee, all future servicing included. So, put into context, the second year will cost £1079 for all servicing including parts, MOT and ANY labour required for any repairs. The only additional costs are unplanned parts.

This is aimed at cars that are out of warranty. If you only intend to keep the car a short while, then this plan may not be for you.

With regard to a gearbox whine, if we think it is likely to be a problem but the customer doesn't want to resolve, then it can be excluded from the plan. If it is considered a "normal" noise, like diff whine at 50mph for example, then no further action is required.

I think that sounds like a reasonable enough deal, it's certainly something I'd have looked into if it'd been available when I had my GTS. It's perhaps not so great for cars that are JUST out of warranty, granted, but for something like the older HSV's it'd be a great thing to have in my view.
