Hi guys,
The only Lotus dealer / servicer in Ireland has put up their prices for some reason. €1400 PLUS VAT. I mean wtf?

I would much appreciate your help if you could point me in the direction of a service manul of some sort which outlines exactly what to do on a C service and perhaps instructions etc. I am going to get a trusted specialist to do it. I will monitor the entire process but I would like to study it and know exactly whats going on at all times.

Also, links or a list with a general address online where I can buy the parts. I presume eliseparts but I dont know exactly which stuff to buy.

Anyway, once again your help is much appreciated. Wish I knew more to contribute. If you have questions about your computer let me know! Im pretty clueless about cars. I've only got into them with my Elise and I dont think ill ever be a non Lotus owner again biggrin

Crikey, that's over £1k + VAT, madness. It'd be cheaper to book a weekend away in UK and have car serviced whilst you're over.

+1 yes ... and you receive brownie points from your OH for the trip away!

Yup, never under-estimate the power of saved up brownie points, they always come in useful.

Or come up north and use a specialist up here. I use Simon Chambers in Belfast. He has always done a good job for me at a good price. He is on 02890-704040

Hi guys,
Thanks for the info.

The worst thing was, I mentioned to the girl on the phone about the prices in the UK. I asked what exactly they did in the service and wondered if they did anything extra. She asked a technician and he didnt answer the question. Instead he said tell him to go the the f*cking UK.

I was shocked to say the least. I would never go to Linders in Dublin for anything, ever, after that to be honest.

I will give that guy in Belfast a shout tonight actually. Thank you...

That is shocking! If you treat customers like that they will vote with their feet. I often wondered if I bought a brand new car about going south to get my car serviced, but you have answered my question.

If the Lotus dealer did use such language to you, I reckon Lotus themselves might want to hear about it.

You don't buy this brand expecting to hear that kind of rubbish.

Absolutely, I will call them tomorrow and see what they say. Additionally, there must be a pricing limit for the service. €1300 + VAT Vs £260 ?

Something seems very wrong

Just to clarify, I was speaking with a nice girl and I askedh er what they did in the service to make it so much more. I mentioned the prices in the UK. She just relayed the info and I heard the technician in the background saying that.

I frequently travel to Ireland & on a hole it seems to be getting really expensive even for the basic of things. I mean, car insurance yikes We all know what a rip off it is but over there they seem to REALLY rip you off for it...
