Need some new pads for my Mono M4's.

They're on the standard pads currently and I'm wondering if I should buy a different make and/or compound?

What are you views on sintered? Noisy, abrasive, bad move?

My understanding is that organic pads offer better stopping power, but don't last as long as the sintered, and that the sintered pads can reach extremely high temperatures, thus you should check to make sure the brakes/hoses etc can take the heat build up.

These are AWESOME pads, and cheap too. Wear rate is high, but worth it.

A couple of the magazines have tested and highly rated the Superstar pads. As with all pads if you don't bed them in properly and treat them with the necessary care they aren't going to last long.

At the price of the Superstar pads (ie buying 4 at a time) you don't need to be so carefull! I'm going to order them when my stores need replenishment.

I've used Superstar's sister firm numerous times and found them quick and professional. What more could you ask for?

As for Sintered / Organic - I prefer Sintered.

I run Sintered pads. Organics do offer a bit more bite but if you use the brakes a lot then you can kill a set in a few days worth of riding.

Unless you are off to France I would just go for the Sintered option. I've just put a new set of Hope pads in my mono M4's wink

Holy Thread Resurrection!

I'm looking to buy some fresh pads for my Formula Oro K24 disk brakes for the first time.
Anybody tried out Ceramic pads, in particular the 'Red' triple life ones? Any experiences on how well they perform would be gratefully received. ears
