My oil pressure guage 'reading' went daft a while back and now want to fix it.

The oil pressure reading on the guage rises to about 60 when i switch the ignition on even though the engine has not even been started! It stays the same regardless of temp, revs, etc which leads me to think its the sender unit.

Wheres the best place to get a new sender - the ones I have seen seem quite expensice at about £30 to £40..?

My car is a 94 400 serp - anyone know which is the correct sensor..?

Thanks in advance.

Most suppliers will not have new stock until start of March/April. I think 3-40 sounds cheap, they are normally 50-70 GBP.

I trust you refer to the circular brass coloured unit at the base of the engine near filter ?

They are different depending on the instruments fitted..

If you have the earlier ETB black rimmed sunken dials look at:

£40ish sounds about right for the sensor, but it really does depend on the instruments which model you need, I got lucky getting hold of one. wink

Could have done with keeping hold of the old one for reference of the part number though. banghead
