just looking for a bit of advice

looks like my battery on my gallardo has given up on me.

its a 04 04 manual

car only covered 800 miles in 12 months and often has long periods with no use, now the batterry wont hold a charge so think i need a new one,

it says in the hand book that i have to take it to a lambo service centre but as nearest one is manchester and im in washington surely i can fit it myself.

has anyone had any experiences

help appreciated as car now off road

cheers Tim

Is there anyway you can keep a battery conditioner permanently connected to the vehicle?

eg. http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/Store/Product/P...

You can leave this plugged in indefinitely (mine's via the cigarette lighter) with the alarm on.

Actually quite an easy job to change!
Open bonnet,
Remove rubber seal,
lift up the liner, (there is 4 push clips, but they normally release easy!)
Battery right in front of you!!
Then in the words of "Haynes" Simply reverse the sequence!! (ok fitting the rubber seal again can be a bit of an arse!!)

Battery is removed in this pic!! but you can see the battery leads etc!
Good luck!
Oh sorry if teaching grandmother how to suck eggs!! But make sure the keys are NOT in the car when doing the job!!!

The battery is a Bosch Silver, short code is 7FN or part number 574 013 068. Should cost around 100 quid. Very easy to fit.

Do as said but there are 4 allen/torq screws very easy to see at the side of the carpet tub. remove these and use a screw driver to lever out the boot light aswell. You will have a lot of fun getting the seal back on, it is a hell of a job to do and could take you a while. I would suggest getting a dealer to put the seal back on as if you easily loose your temper with things you will loose it very fast
