Anyone got any prices/experiences from their Dealers on Warranties. My extended TVR Total policy is just up for renewal & I'm interested to hear from anyone that has the RAC version (think they trade as "Motorway Direct" for warranties) and costs etc.

Regards

I am with Motorcare and whilst it does not cover everything it seems to do the job. If you type motorcare Warranties into google, they will come up. There is a number on the site, so they might be worth a look

hi, i had a warranty holdings policy, when i bought my griff, only paid out on 5th gear going, paid about 70% of total cost.when it came time to renw, they wanted £700 for a year and that was with a claim limit of £1000 (previous year upto value of car), so kinda thought it wasn't worth it. the original warranty didn't pay for a couple of little niggles anyway.

Not convinced these warranties are of any benefit really. If you get your car regularly fettled and keep on top of the problems dealing with them when they're small, then where is the mystery big bill going to come from eh?

Perhaps if you're an AJP engined TVR owner it might be worth it, but to be honest I can see the warrantee company doing their utmost not to pay as it cuts into their profits.

Are you sure you need one? I think your effort is better spent finding the right people to look after you car.

Steve.

Steve,

Been using Fernies for the past 3 years & have had excellent service. Warranty items replaced during last 2 years were Lambda sensor & Alarm Unit - so yes, I would have saved money not having the warranty - but thats what Insurance is all about. Add a Window motor and I would have been quids in.

Good to meet you guys at Gang on the Green & congrats to Bristol for a great weekend !!
