You may be bit late for one of the first ones! I've been down for one for 2 years.

Agree with doshy wink

Nissan have "Closed" the Import door now. you will have to go through a UK Dealer and go on back order. The earliest deliveries for the UK pre-ordered ones is March 2009 so order now could be late 2009/2010 IIRC.

i went out in my mates imported one it awesome biggrin (the one from the Autocar Test) it's not for sale either wink

Thanks for posting Tony.

I've paid a deposit on a new GTR but would love to see one in the flesh, maybe even sit in one! Do you think your mate would allow this? If so, where is he situated?

Thanks.

If you want a UK car the GTR dealers are being anounced at the European launch at Geneva from 6 March.
A lot of people have unofficial 1k deposits with several large Nissan dealers notable Middlehurst in St Helens.
Official deposits of around 4.5K are required by 2 April.

Those that already have deposits with dealers are mugs imo, its all very well the official UK launch date being Mar 09 but i wonder how long the wait will be then as the production numbers are so low and the USA is far ahead in the queue.

I will be surprised if GTR's start coming over in decent numbers much before Oct/Nov 2009.

Tony,

How did your mate get past the lack of model report to get his car SVAed? I'd heard that Nissan weren't making it available in order to stop grey imports.

He could have commisioned his own model report and then had the ESVA done against that? (although it would have been pretty expensive)

As speed machine says wink He has previously worked closely with VOSA on importing Jap Cars, he has done a couple of model reports .

Apparently it has passed "euro4"!!! and yes Model reports are VERY expensive first one cost him £15+K, IIRC

They measure CAT's, B/Box, doors, Track well absolutely everything, even the size of sound proofing under bonnet and all shown on a detailed photos.

Your deposit needs to be with one of the performance centres. Make sure your deposit goes to a dealer on the list or your dealer has your order lodged with a performance centre. All deposits now need to be raised to the equivalent of 5000 euro and the dealer will then be loading them on the order system from the 2nd of April.
That means you have to confirm your car and be in the 1st 500 downloaded to Nissan to get your car in year one.I dont know if each performance centre will get 50 cars allocated or if it will be spread out across the demand. For example Middlehurst will not be getting 400 cars. It also means you have from now to 2nd April to spec the car at the performance centre.
Mine will be Black Edition in Silver 1st one in NI
The Black Edition is the only one with darker alloys.
Price difference is £1300 per increment.
Basic, Premium, Black, Sat Nav only from Sept 09
Black edition is the only one with darker headlining and red leather accents/ alcantara.

No guarantee you will get one though , that deposit may sit at Nissan for a very long time
