What to look for when buying a MKIV golf dielsel ?

If you are looking at the 150 GTi TDi (ARL engine) then check the state of the cam, if possible, these have a tendency to self munch around 70k-80k miles, if its been done then ok, check for cambelt at 60k miles.

All the other obvious things apply, i.e. Service History, brakes, suspension, etc, etc....

If its close to you go to look, then you will get a better picture, we can only look at the advert, which basically means nothing until you see it in the flesh.
