2 years in and this car gets better and better. my everyday drive is away at present and so i have had to use the 348 everyday..it is a blast...each and every journey has been a joy and i've really learned a lot more about the car through using it in all weathers rather than just sunny ones. main thing. do not drive these cars at 6.30 am when it is cold and there is grit on the road. dual carriage way, half throttle in 3rd into 4th( the best bit) and the back end started snaking away whilst driving straight ahead. it seems one back tyre was on grit, the other wasnt and the car nearly twisted itself off the road. given all the stuff about evil handling 348's i agree to a point, and if the road aint perfect i aint driving it quickly anymore; no traction control..this also means i have given up giving more modern stuff a burn up...i'm not schumacher and i love the car way too much to bend it..however, give me a dry , sunny afternoon and my usual drive home ie today and this car is just amazing. by using her everyday i've also got more into the right mind set re ownership, a kind of feeling that you are the custodian of something special, rather than feeling one must jump in every time you use it and thrash the thing..i've even come round to a pleasurable feeling as i see the odometer turn round and am looking forward to being the owner of a 30k 348, also loving the used look, she currently has a light covering of road muck. memorable moment of the last week though was a clk merc alongside in slow motorway traffic, his passenger side window discreetly comes down to access the sound,no gesticulating from driver... so much cooler than the crap comments drivers often regail you with in these cars..."wanna swap" etc. thing is prior to having my own i downed the windows every time a fezza came past, still do when i'm in my merc. sometimes i actually think i'm missing out, would love to be watching/hearing my antics from the outside, except this isnt possible, not sure if anyone else is like this here but i just cant, no matter how hard i or my mates try, let anyone else take her out..wouldnt be right. oh , and i've worked out what the "risc" button means...= lovely warm cabin.
ps. top marks to mike at qv, car developed a misfire due to coil going and he fitted me in at the drop of a hat. fouled the plugs and the car sounded like a chavved up subaru.

Hallelujah bow

They get better the more you drive them and ... I would seriously consider using mine as an every day car, but at a 1.5 mile commute it might not thank me for it ... although there's always a long way round smile
