Cheers mate, the 911 is mine, I took the decals off (except the Carrera script, that has always been on) as soon as we got home. It took me days to put them on and only 10 minutes to take them off. While we were at Le Mans loads of people took pictures but only a couple have appeared on PH. I think decorating the car for the trip is all part of the fun.

Except mine were for the MegaHoon 06 trip to Monaco
cue boringly repetative script - "God I really miss that car!"

Burriana, as a 911 owner, maybe you can talk some sense into Nurburgring1. He has recently replaced his bootlid for one with no spoiler. This is just plane wrong on this vintage of 911 in my opinion. Plus he'll probably crash at the first Alpine hairpin he comes to due to terminal oversteer through lack of said spoiler! Please help.

correct on both counts - Mont Ventoux it is ... spectacular!Guys, I think that the spoiler v no spoiler debate has merits in both counts ... there is something very pure about a smooth backed 911 ... although mine quite frequently saw north of 150mph and I don't know how losing the spoiler would effect the handling.
The Carrera loved the Grande Alps and it never missed a beat all week, and we weren't exactly hanging around.
THIS is the picture, that for me anyway, sums up driving in the Alps ... it doesn't get much better

Although I really do like the car without the spoiler, it will probably be back on by the time I go away due to having nowhere to keep an engine cover and spoiler, it's taking up too much room in my office.peterguk V6 KWK said:

It is on the south western edge of the south Grande Alps. Nearest town is probably Orange and a little further south is Avignon.the whole of the southern Alps offers unbelievable driving and a must do is the famous Col du Turini of Monte Carlo Rally fame
