Hi there, new on this forum and writing on behalf of my wife's Mini Cooper. It's a 2003 model with approx 32,000 miles and was bought from a friend who bought a year prior from the Mini approved used car programme.

My question is, where is the torque on this car ?! It feels like it's towing a caravan all the time - so acceleration is ultra sluggish. Does anyone have any advice on whether this sounds normal ? Love the car's responsive handling and stability once up to speed but the terrible acceleration is tarnishing the experience for me....

Car is still covered by the Mini warranty so are there any known problems I should be asking them to fix ?

Appreciate your feedback.

the cooper is quite possibly one of the least torquey cars i have ever driven. below 4k it is gutless which can become fustrating.

i did 42,000 miles in mine and you get to know exactly how to drive it. dont be afraid to use all the revs, the engines are pretty bulletproof, thats how they are designed to be driven biggrin
