Exhaust noise level of standard Sagaris

Does anyone know what the noise level of a standard Sagaris (well, standard in the TVR sense ) please?

Just need to know for possible track days / VMax / whatever.

Did a couple of days last year and registered 104 and 102. My Sag is straight out of the box, no mods so should be a good indication. Both readings taken at 4,500 rpm.

I managed to get on Bedford last year at 101db but I think the reading was just over that at about 4k revs and the marshalls turned a blind eye.

It sounds like they have really tightened up at Bedford this year due to noise complaints so I doubt any Sag will get on there now . My Sag is standard, out of the box.

Min's a july 05 and it registers 111db ????? Completely standard

I use Blue flame shark nose cans for track days. They lower the noise to 95db. They come with small inner silencers one for each side, this will lower the noise to about 90db. I've never had to fit the internal ones, I just run the shark nose cans. Mine runs at about 101db with standard sag cans on.

Janspeed in Salisbury (01722 321833) modified my Sagaris exhaust. The 2 new rear sections reduced the level from 102db to 98db.

that doesnt sound right if its standard because ours was running 111db without a backbox on so its more like 101

Now you have me worried. Going to Zolder and the Ring in June with standard Sagaris setup. Zolder is a 95dBa track. Just wondering how strict they will be.

Its a 95bda drive by and the folk you'll be with will let you know were the testing points are. John (Daftlad) won the overall fastest lap at Zolder with a fairly standard Sagaris last year that was static 101-102dba - no sign of black flags.

They are strict.

Defo 111db, John(Daftlad) was stood next to me when they tested itat BNG this year? John did think that it may have one of the early type rear silencers on, if that makes any difference?

Mine is registered June 2005 (and 101 / 102 db) with the standard early silencers so thats a bit of a mystery . Have you had it from new? It hasn't been decatted has it?

No not had it decated, bought it with 2.5k miles on it. Have had the exhaust off when the diff seal was done, hasn't got any form of uprated silencer on it etc..looks pretty standard. Think there are few different types of early silencer???

Why not buy the really cheap TITANIUM cans in the classifieds and have your present cans modified to make them quieter for trackdays?
